60ft x 11ft Wide Beam

The Bluewater story

Built around its owners

Widebeam Built 2027 60 ft Diesel
Currently taking shape in our steel fabrication workshop is this 60ft x 11ft Eurocruiser wide beam, being built for owners who plan to make her their full-time home when she is delivered in Spring 2027.

This particular wide beam is not a bespoke design but is based on one of our established Bluewater Boats designs, developed from the wide beams we have successfully built over the years.

At Bluewater Boats, we build our own hulls in-house, giving us complete control over the quality of the steel fabrication from the very beginning.

This wide beam features our distinctive short, raised bow together with a square, rounded Eurocruiser stern and wraparound seating – creating a fantastic outdoor space for relaxing and entertaining while cruising.

Our Chine Hull Design
The hull is built with a chine, an important feature of our wide-beam design. The chine helps improve manoeuvrability and handling through the water and allows a better flow of water back towards the propeller, helping the propeller work more effectively.

The design also reduces the draft towards the outer edges of the hull, making it easier to moor closer to the bank in shallower water – a particularly useful advantage on the inland waterways.

Another major advantage of the chine is the additional space it creates beneath the internal floor. This allows both the fresh water tank and waste tank to be positioned below floor level within the chine, rather than taking up valuable living or storage space elsewhere within the boat.

Layout – Bow to Stern
The boat has been designed as a spacious one-bedroom liveaboard with the following layout:

Bedroom → Bathroom → Saloon → Galley

Rather than a conventional sliding hatch at the stern, steps from the rear deck will provide access into the boat, helping to create a clean and practical Eurocruiser stern arrangement.

Specification
The specification will include a Shire 70hp diesel engine, hydraulic steering, a 90kgf electric bow thruster and a 6.5kVA generator.

The electrical system will feature Victron equipment, including an inverter/charger, galvanic isolator and Victron Lithium NG batteries, together with plenty of solar panels across the cabin roof to make the most of available solar energy.

At the bow, an electric windlass and anchor will also be fitted.
For year-round comfort, the boat will have Webasto diesel central heating together with a Reflex diesel heating stove in the saloon.

The galley specification will include a gas oven, gas hob, 240V fridge, 240V freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer with oak worktops.

From Bare Steel to Finished Wide Beam
Steel fabrication is due to be completed towards the end of October 2026. The exterior will then be professionally shot blasted in preparation for its protective coating systems.

Below the waterline, with the exception of the base plate, a two-pack epoxy blacking system will be applied, while the superstructure will receive a two-pack high-build primer ready for the later stages of painting.

She will then move into the early stages of her interior fit-out before the end of the year, ready for completion and delivery in Spring 2027.

Follow the Build
There is plenty more to come from this wide beam as she progresses from bare steel through to a fully fitted liveaboard wide beam.

If you would like to come and view this wide beam at any stage of the build, please give us a call or email to arrange an appointment. It is a great opportunity to see first-hand how our wide beams are built and the workmanship that goes into a Bluewater Boats hull.
